My wife was super skeptical when I decided to make a Washington DC flag. But it has been super popular! The flag is based on the design of George Washington's coat of arms, first used in the twelfth century. For over a century, the District of Columbia was without an official flag. In 1938, Congress established a commission to choose an official, original flag design. The commission held a public competition, and picked the submission of graphic designer Charles A. R. Dunn! I actually do this in the shape of Washington DC as well so check out that posting!
This is made in a non-distressed look (although I also do it distressed as well). It is made from Colorado white pine, and has a very clean look. It's painted with home made coloured stains so you can also see the wood grain through the colours to give it more of an interesting look.
Each piece of wood is hand picked and totally unique so the item may differ slightly from photos. It is equipped with a hanger on the back so it's ready to hang straight on the wall. The sizes given are approximate. This piece is made to order, each one is totally unique. Item may differ slightly from photos.
